More information about Olfa

The name "OLFA" comes from two Japanese words that, translated, mean "to break a blade". OLFA's parallelogram logo is taken in the shape of a snap-off blade. In 1956, Mr. Yoshio Okada, founder of OLFA CORPORATION, invented the world's first SNAP-OFF BLADE CUTTER. The inspiration for this incredible idea came from breaking segments of chocolate bars and analyzing the edges of the broken glass. This unique invention has since become a global bestseller and is commonly known as the OLFA CUTTER.

Tools that improve the way you cut materials

The pressure cutting knife was conceived as an economical, safe and efficient knife, which allows users to always work with a sharp blade edge, since it allows them to break the edge of the previous blade.

It revolutionized the way of cutting materials greatly improving work efficiency. The angle and length of the invented blades eventually became de facto world standards. Today, pressure cutting blades are used all over the world.
