History

1905. The first writings that are preserved are from the beginning of the 20th century, corresponding to communications with clients.

1911. Private Deed of Constitution of the Company “E. UNZUETA Y COMPAÑÍA ”in favor of Mr. Esteban Unzueta Echaniz and Mr. Teodoro Alcorta Arostegui. The capital of said company at its incorporation was four thousand pesetas, which said partners contributed in equal parts. The corporate purpose was the MANUFACTURE OF GUNS FOR SHOTGUNS and other operations related to these works. Probably to supply said shotgun barrels to the Pedro Alcorta company. The company was located on Calle San Francisco de Elgoibar. The company was popularly called ITTURRI, due to its proximity to a source.

1920. By 1920, a transformation had taken place and the company is called "ALCORTA Y CIA" and manufactures weapons, cutlery and electrical appliances. In the following years the manufacture of weapons was abandoned, focusing on products such as hand tools and cutlery. One of the chapters in which it was developed the most was in the forging process.

1961. The company is renamed "ALCORTA, UNZUETA Y CIA". At that time the company was located between Calle San Francisco and Ermuaranbide, with various independent workshops. At that time one of the most important products were machetes, which were massively exported to South America.

1974. The noise of the forge within the town, the lack of space, and several floods of the Sallabente regatta, lead to the construction of the new plant in the current polygon of San Lorenzo Azkue, where the forge is first moved to a brand new ship.

1990. The manufacture of tools is moved to the industrial estate. The main products are pliers, pliers, spanners, articulated wrenches, bits, chisels and augers. For some years there is a marketing agreement for other tools with the Slovenian firm Unior. The forging activity is focusing on the automotive market.

1997. The tools and forging activities are separated, creating the companies "ALYCO TOOLS SA" and "ALCORTA BROCKHAUS, SA", both located in different pavilions of the San Lorenzo industrial estate. An agreement is reached with the Swedish firm Tengtools, for the commercialization of tools, in force for several years.

2003. The company ALYCO TOOLS, SA is given a new direction, focusing on the commercialization of quality tools under the ALYCO brand, significantly increasing the catalog. Production focuses on special keys.

2007. Installation of automatic storage systems to improve the service, after a significant increase in picking invoicing.
